THE BLACK TIE DIFFERENCE

The decade Extension

The Problem:

The standard insurance model treats 60-year-old tennis players like "aging patients." They are told to "take it easy," given a generic cortisone shot, and sent to a high-volume physical therapy clinic.

We treat you like a Professional Masters Athlete. We don't just manage your pain; we optimize your biomechanics and biology to extend your playing career by a decade or more.

"Because 'just getting older' isn't a diagnosis we accept. We specialize in the non-surgical preservation of the elite tennis life."

FEATURE STANDARD INSURANCE PRACTICE Black Tie Masters Longevity
Time with Doctor 10–15 Minutes 60–90 Minutes
The "Plan" "Stop playing for 6 weeks" "Here is how we keep you playing"
Communication Phone tag with a receptionist Direct text/call with your surgeon
Philosophy Reactive (Treat the pain) Proactive (Preserve the joint)
Context You are a "Patient" You are an "Athlete"

  • Do you take insurance?

Black Tie Orthopedics is a cash-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly. A superbill can be provided after each visit so you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many patients with PPO plans recover a portion of their costs this way. We keep it simple — you pay Dr. Kang directly, no middleman, no surprises.

  • How is Black Tie different from a regular orthopedic practice?

At a standard orthopedic practice you get fifteen minutes with a doctor you've never met, a prescription, and a referral. At Black Tie you work directly with Dr. Kang from your first contact to your last appointment. No phone trees, no handoffs, no rushed visits. Dr. Kang takes the time to understand your injury and what getting back on the court actually means to you.

  • What if I need surgery?

If surgery is genuinely the best option, Dr. Kang will tell you honestly and refer you to the right surgeon. His goal is never to avoid surgery for its own sake — it's to make sure you've exhausted every legitimate non-surgical option first. After performing thousands of surgeries he knows the difference between an injury that needs the operating room and one that doesn't.

  • Do you provide second opinions?

Yes. If you've been told you need surgery and aren't sure, a second opinion from Dr. Kang is one of the most valuable consultations Black Tie offers. Many patients discover their injury has non-surgical options they were never offered.

  • Is Black Tie Orthopedics only for tennis players?

Tennis players are our specialty and our focus. That said, Dr. Kang welcomes any patient who wants expert orthopedic care without surgery pressure, insurance hassle, or rushed visits — regardless of how they got hurt.

Thank you for contacting Black Tie Orthopedics. Your request has been received and will be personally reviewed by our team. We look forward to connecting with you.
